Pryor named chairman of Homeland Security, Commerce subcommittees WASHINGTON U.S. Senator Mark Pryor has been tapped to lead a new subcommittee of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The subcommittee will look at first responders and grants to local and state law enforcement. The panel also will examine disaster preparedness. ATC-20 Seminar offers training in post-earthquake safety evaluation of buildings Jan. 23, 2007--The beginning of February marks Seismic Awareness Week in Arkansas and surrounding states. On Friday, Feb. 9, Arkansas State University will host an Applied Technology Council seminar (ATC-20 Seminar) for training in post-earthquake safety evaluation of buildings. The seminar runs from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and will be held in the ASU College of Agriculture, Room 203, 119 South Caraway Road. Cost of the seminar is $25.
